On the 11th hour, the 11th Day, the 11th month year of 1918.  The Pact was signed to end World War I.  President Dwight D. Eisenhower, 1954, named Veterans Day.
In 1971 Congress moved Veterans Day to the 4th Monday in October (long weekend).  President Gerald Ford moved Veterans Day back to the 11th in 1975 due to the significance of the date.
Our Veterans were honored at the Republican Women of Hall County meeting November 8th, 2021, at Cork It.  Each Veteran gave their name, rank, and branch of military service.  In honor of the nine Veterans, Cork It gave each Veteran a glass of wine of their choice.
